About the Journal

Aims and Scope

The Ghana Journal of Development Studies (GJDS) is a multi-, trans-, and interdisciplinary journal with a strong focus on development. GJDS publishes original research and critical analysis related to development policy, programming, and projects—whether analytical, evaluative, theoretical, applicative, or descriptive.

Submissions are welcomed from a wide range of disciplines, including the physical sciences, social sciences, and the humanities. Articles must demonstrate direct relevance to development, with an emphasis on empirically grounded research that builds on or contributes to theory. High-quality theoretical papers and book reviews are also considered.

The journal provides a platform for academics, researchers, and development professionals to present findings and analysis of development issues, particularly—but not exclusively—within the Ghanaian and broader African contexts.
